CONTACT LENSES

What is involved in a professional contact lens evaluation?

There are many aspects to a professional contact lens evaluation that makes it different from a routine eye examination.  The first step of the evaluation is determining how we can best correct your prescription whether it's nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or presbyopia (the inability to focus at near after age 40).  Next we evaluate the corneal health and physiology making sure the tear film is sufficient for optimum contact lens interaction.  We are also proud to offer corneal topography, a computerized instrument that maps out 8000 curvature points of each cornea to give us very specific data about the corneas' contour, shape, and integrity.  We also use the topographer for laser vision correction and to diagnose and manage numerous corneal diseases.  Based on your particular prescription, anatomical features, and health of the cornea and surrounding tissues, we recommend the best contact lens modality that will provide optimum vision AND comfort.  The lens has to be evaluated on the eye for optimum movement, visual acuity, and rotation especially if it is a toric lens.  Once we believe that the evaluation and vision is excellent, we will recommend follow up visits and how to care for the lenses.

We offer free trials on most of our disposable contact lenses with no obligation.  After a professional contact lens evaluation is performed, we will gladly issue a free pair(s) of contact lenses and have you trial them for at least a week to make sure you are comfortable with them and they work well for your lifestyle.

Our patients can now order contact lenses on line.
